Statement at the conference
The learning tool does not refer directly or exclusively to the context of Holocaust education, even though the Shoah and its public commemoration serves clearly as a frame of reference for the long histories of Viennese antisemitism. Nevertheless, we see ourselves also situated within the field of Holocaust education, drawing on Elke Rajal, who criticises that although “it is undisputed that without antisemitism there would have been no Shoah”, antisemitism is often omitted from Holocaust education or is not situated at its core. -> Rajal, Elke (2025): Reconceptualizing Holocaust Education: Lessons from Critical Theory.
